about Jaspreet
I approach each matter with both analytical rigor and a genuine appreciation for the people behind each file, helping me build strong and lasting relationships with my clients.
I advise employers and employees on a broad range of workplace issues, including employment contracts, terminations, constructive dismissal, wrongful dismissal, discrimination and accommodation complaints, and human rights matters. I have conducted workplace investigations involving allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct.
I have represented clients before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Employment Standards Branch, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal, and the Human Rights Tribunal.
I also advise U.S. based businesses on cross-border employment matters including expanding operations in British Columbia and complying with provincial employment laws.
I joined Forte Law as a lawyer after completing my articles with the firm. Prior to that, I worked with a major health authority, where I assisted with mediations and arbitrations involving employment and labour matters.
During law school, I served on the Board of Directors with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers British Columbia (FACL BC). As an immigrant from Malaysia, this role was particularly meaningful to me and reinforced my commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive legal profession.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and cherish opportunities to return to Malaysia to visit my grandmother and extended family. When I’m not doing that, I’m trying new recipes, rewatching my favourite comedies, or finding any excuse to be near the water.
