When I’m not doing that, I’m making new recipes (permission to scroll Instagram), researching films (aka watching TV), walking the neighbourhood (eventual goal of doing the Camino with my uber fit mother), and watching sailing videos (with dreams to get back out on the water soon!).

about Monica

As Chief Operating Officer, I'm responsible for guiding the discussions of strategy for the firm. I oversee the firms finances and operations and help ensure that the work of the firm remains connected to its core values.

As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Certified Executive Coach (CEC, PCC) based in Vancouver Canada, I’ve worked in public practice and industry, founded a successful executive search firm, and helmed a national charity supporting women entrepreneurs.  I have over 25 years of professional experience in areas including finance and accounting, strategic planning, project management, business development, and governance. My understanding of organizational needs allows me to help organizations through transition and growth.

I continually give back through active participation with various boards and committees. I am currently on the Board of WeBC, a Not for Profit supporting women entrepreneurs through financing, mentorship, and advisory services. I was previously with the AICPA Global Women’s Leadership Summit Planning Committee for 7 years developing their annual conferences for over 500 business leaders. Other organizations I have been involved in are the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs as a 9-year Board Member, Women Get on Board Ambassador, CPA Canada Women’s Leadership Council Chair, Association of Women in Finance Board Member, and Air Canada Dreams Take Flight Ambassador and Treasurer.

I believe we are never too young to keep learning. In my mid 40’s I decided to try my hand at sailing. My initiation was on a 40 ft racing boat, and for the first 2 years my instructions from the skipper were: “don’t touch anything” and “don’t fall off the boat”. After two years of going fast I wanted a different pace as well as to learn HOW to be a sailor (not just ‘hold on’). I joined a sailing school and after several years and certifications, I can now captain a vessel and have enjoyed chartering in BC, the Bahamas, and the BVI’s. I am blessed with a husband who is my partner in fun and partner in love. I also get to watch my beautiful daughter embark on her own grown-up journey. Life is pretty good.
